Archie Bray Foundation

Founded in 1951, the Bray is a nonprofit, educational
institution dedicated to the enrichment of the ceramic arts, offering
residencies and specialized workshops to ceramic artists from around the
world. Located on the 26-acre site of the former Western Clay
Manufacturing Company, the Bray facilities include year-round resident
studios, site-specific sculpture, community class facilities, a sales
gallery, a summer warehouse gallery, extensive kiln facilities, and a
retail ceramic supply business.

Clayworks exists to develop, sustain, and promote an artist-centered
community that provides outstanding artistic, educational, and
collaborative programs in ceramics. WHAT WE ARE...a nonprofit ceramic art
center housed in a former Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore, established in
1980. WHAT WE DO...teach 20 classes per week; hold exhibitions; rent
studio space; sell clay art, and functional pottery; fire gas, electric,
and wood kilns; conduct workshops; host visiting artists; provide
resources on technical issues and ceramic art health information; grant an
annual emerging artist fellowship; and more.

The Clay Studio
- The Clay

Pewabic Pottery

1903 during the height of the Arts & Crafts Movement in America, Pewabic
Pottery is today a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of
the Arts & Crafts ideals while advancing contemporary ceramic arts through

Red Star Studios
- In the mid
1990's Steven Hill was looking for a way to expand his studio, begin an
artist-in-residence program for aspiring potters, and potentially to
provide space for other ceramic artists to work. This idea grew into a
ceramics center, including: a gallery featuring some of the best
functional pottery from across the US, a teaching classroom for both
ongoing classes and special workshops, and studios leased to other clay
artists.

Watershed Center for
the Ceramic Arts

Watershed serves the local community with a variety of clay arts programs.
