Seattle's December Events: Art, Music, and Festive Markets

As December unfolds, Seattle transforms into a hub of artistic and cultural vibrancy, offering a plethora of events and markets that are sure to enchant both residents and tourists. From awe-inspiring natural displays to engaging art exhibitions and festive markets, the city provides a diverse array of experiences to close out the year.

Natural Marvels: Fontainebleau Concretions

Experience the breathtaking beauty of nature with the "Fontainebleau Concretions" exhibit. These remarkable sandstone formations, known as gogottes, originate from Fontainebleau, France, and have captivated art enthusiasts for generations. Once admired by Louis XIV and displayed in the opulent halls of Versailles, these natural sculptures have inspired countless artists. Now, they are showcased at Seattle's TASWIRA Gallery, offering a unique opportunity to witness nature's sculptural artistry. The exhibit is open until December 31.

Music Meets Art: Free Concerts at Belltown Art Walk

The Belltown Art Walk, a monthly highlight in Seattle held on the second Friday, is introducing a new free concert series this December. Visitors can enjoy performances by local DJs and musicians at various venues throughout the neighborhood. This exciting event, dubbed "Track 206," is scheduled for December 12 from 6 to 9 p.m., providing a delightful fusion of art and music for an enjoyable evening out.

Milestone Celebration: ArtX Contemporary

Established by Cora Edmonds in 1995 as an online gallery, ArtX has grown into a vital part of Seattle's art scene. The anniversary exhibition features works by 45 artists, including prominent locals such as Lisa Myers Bulmash and Juan Alonso-Rodríguez. The exhibition runs from December 4 to January 17 at ArtX Contemporary in Pioneer Square.
